As we begin our 4th year, i5 Elite welcomes 105 athletes and their families to the 2014 outdoor track season. While we continue to celebrate the successes of the indoor season, including 38 medals, five records, and six national titles, we look forward to what the summer will bring!
For those athletes and families returning to i5 ELITE, it’s great to see you back! Please take the time to get to know and support our new athletes and families – most of us can remember how overwhelming the transition to the world of youth track and field can be! For those new to the i5 Elite family, we are honored that you have chosen to run with us. As your child goes through tough practices and extensive training to improve his/her athletic abilities, you will see your athlete excel not only on the track but in everything they do. Track and field are a huge commitment – not just for your athlete, but for your entire family. We want your child’s experience to be a rewarding one, so if you have questions or concerns, please reach out.
As we prepare for our first track meet on May 3rd, be sure to review the nutrition and fitness tips provided on our website. We want our athletes to be ready to “impact the track”, and that starts by making positive choices to support good health. Track and field ar a very physically demanding sport – successful athletes eat properly, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest. Also, don’t forget the importance of a positive attitude. A positive attitude is the first step to being successful at anything!
Again, welcome to the 2014 outdoor season. See you at the track!!
“The glory of sports comes from dedication, determination, and desire. Achieving success and personal glory in athletics has less to do with wins and losses than it does with learning how to prepare yourself so that at the end of the day, whether on the track or in the office, you know that there was nothing more you could have done to reach your ultimate goal.” – Jackie Joyner-Kersee
